Logan and I have been struggling lately trying to find a balance between family life and career life. We have most recently been having a few serious conversations about trying something new. A new job for him and possibly a new job for me.

This past week was the breaking point for Logan at his current job. Logan currently has a great career, but it takes up so much of his time and energy that he misses a lot of quality time with Daven and me. We had to make one of the hardest decisions we have ever made as a family.

Wednesday, Logan turned in his two weeks notice. There is nothing out of the ordinary about turning in your notice other than the fact that we have no black up plan. We are taking a huge step of faith in hopes that God will provide. We are both at peace with this decision and know deep down in our hearts, that everything will work out for the best. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t scared to death!

We have been scared about our careers before but that was long before we had a mortgage, car payment, and most importantly a family. Logan is the man of the household and his main priority is to provide for his family. The fact that he (currently) no longer has the means to do that is very unnerving to him.

So please keep us in mind as you send up prayers. We trust and have faith that things will work out for the best, but extra thoughts and prayers are always needed and appreciated. We may also be taking a few suggestions. HA!

Heavenly Father I come to you now with nothing to give. We put our future in your hands trusting that you will provide. Provide Logan with a job, provide the funds to help us get through the next few months, and provide the love and support that this family needs to survive. Guide us as we hunt for the perfect fit and help create a working environment that is family friendly. Thank you for the blessings you give us every day. In Jesus Name…Amen.

Retail is so hard especially with a family. I know that this must have been so hard for the two of you, a very grown up decision indeed.
Doesn't growing up suck sometimes, It may get worse before better but that is just one of those tings. I am sure you two are going to come out on top. We well keep you in our thought and prayers. Just a phone call away if you need anything. Love you so much, lisa

You are in our prayers... but since you took this leap, I know you will find your peace. I think it's awesome that you didn't just sit around talking about "changes"... you DID something to make it happen! That's fabulous!!!

How lucky for Daven to have you both around more! What a difference it will make in his life. :)
    Love -K

    Aspen,
I know that this must be very scarey, but if you are both at peace and of one mind things will work out. Let me know how I can pray.

PS: I have been very busy and have not read your blog for a couple of weeks. I scanned through to see pictures of Daven. Love the pictures. I cannot believe how much he has grown and the things he can do.

We are praying like crazy for you all, and we're confident that you're making good decisions and doing what's best for your family! In the meantime, here are a few little suggestions from the Griffin family (not that you wanted our input!)... :)

    1. Move to Omaha!
    2. Pack up and come live with us for an indefinite length of time.
    3. OK, just come for a visit. We'll feed you and play cards with you and provide all the necessary hunting licenses for Log.

While we realize none of the aforementioned ideas will pay your bills, we still think they're fabulous and strongly encourage you to consider one or all??!! (Perhaps beginning with #3 and eventually leading to #2 and #1???)

    Love you tons!

Catching up after being gone all week. We will certainly be keeping Logan and your family in our prayers that he finds what he needs (and what you guys need).

And that is just one of the cutest pics of Daven!!

Wow, what a bold and faith filled move! Ryan and I are so proud of your decision and know that God will provide. As you know God is bigger than all of us and He knows what we need and when we need it. God is getting jobs ready for Logan and possibly you as we speak (type). We will keep you in our prayers, for continued faithfulness and the right job or jobs to come along.
Love you guys, Ryan and Val
